Taken In By American Idol

I have missed a few seasons of American Idol and yet I find myself very in to this season once again. I have just watched the elimination show for this week and felt strongly like I needed to "blog" my feelings out.

I get very into the show, contestants lives, and I get favorites. Without a doubt my favorite is Kat but a close second was Chris. The other two contestants do not even belong in the same playing field as far as I am concerned, despite some fairly good performances last night from them and some lousy ones from my favs. However, I am shocked by how the American public votes. It appears that it is based soley on one shows performances and does not take into any consideration the past. I am shocked and saddened by the results that show my favorites in the bottom two and Chris go out. I loved Chris' rendition of "When A Man Loves A Woman", I love how he has his wife as his hero on the website, and I thought he was a true artists.

I feel better and can now move on. Go Kat!

I agree. Chris has some personality plus he was easy to look at. Taylor's personality is too over the top and Elliott has no personality at all! Kat is neither here nor there. She'll probably win.

You mentioned Chris's wife...here is an interesting piece of 'gossip' I heard...he is her 3rd husband and she is much older than he is and those adorable children are not his. If I remmeber correctly, she is divorced once and also a widow. So sad. I think it is so sweet that he lists her as his hero.

Is this Crystal from Capes days? I have not heard from you in ages if it is you? I am going to your blog to post this as well in hopes of securing your identity!

I was hoping Chris would win, because his style is different - more the heavy metal/alternative style.

Seriously? Chris is out? I didn't get to watch the results show yesterday (actually, I normally don't watch it, I just check the internet in the morning--but I didn't do that either)...I didn't think that would even be an option! I thought he was going to win for sure. Oh well, maybe this is better for him because being the "Idol" they would make him make some cookie-cutter album with some cheesey "A Moment Like This" first single that totally wouldn't suit him... But I'm still choked.
