Home Again

We have returned from a great vacation that included spending good time at the "bridge". It was so green when we got there, much like the picture, and then it proceeded to slowly dry up. Little wind which many of you know it unusual and highly enjoyable.

Of course, the highlight of the time was Darcen and Susan's wedding. As it seems good policy to not display actual wedding shots of the ceremony or bride, I will keep you hanging with a few pre-wedding shots of the siblings and my parents with Darcen. To say the least, it was a beautiful wedding with a very beautiful bride. It is a very surreal but good feeling to see your brother fall in love and commit himself to another person. This is especially good when you enjoy and look forward to the addition of another family member as we do with Susan. It was fun to visit her childhood home on a ranch and get to know her family a bit better as well. There is weird connections as Susan and I definitely played volleyball against each other in high school. Small world.

Allison and I were the candlelighters and from the hackling during the lighting to comments after, I do believe Allison gets the title as "best girl with a butane torch." She was always patiently waiting for me to finish my corresponding candle and seemed more elegant in lighting the wick without producing a big butane flame. It was fun to do together and I believe there was pride in us both how our dresses complimented each other, the wedding colors, but did not match. I love RW and Co!

Stephen and I also got the pleasure of MCing the reception which was fun. The highlight was the song Allison, Stephen, and I wrote and performed. It was a country version of Darcen and Susan's life which was very fun to perform.

And so we are back in the mid west with a bit of heavy hearts because of sad farewells but we are at the same time busy and trying to deal with stifling heat. Good times indeed.

I think the highlight of the week for me was when you and Allison went to "get ready" for the rehersal dinner at superstore. What would you have done without me! I really wanted to say that you guys did one STELLAR job of MCing the reception. The song was incredible, sometimes it even gets stuck in my head.

Thank you Alexa! Your inspiration to go to Superstore was great...I love that dress! And I must admit that we have continued to sing the song as well.
