So Life Is A Sitcom...

I think I inherited the thought from my Dad that life is a sitcom and that if you look ( or sometimes just live) you experience many weird and funny things.

For example, a laundry story.

Last year, there was hardly a time that we would go down to the laundry room where the machines were in use. There was a sign up sheet but it was not used or followed. Until today... We get our laundry together and go down to do some laundry. We run into a family that waves but looks intensely at our laundry. We find to our surprise all four machines going with even two of them having a note on them to remind people to respect laundry times. When we check on the sign up sheet we see that a few people have signed up for many time slots. For example, one townhouse has four hours booked tonight and another townhouse has booked four hours tonight and another four tomorrow night! So we trudge all of our laundry back home. (actually not that far - I need to clarify this so I am not judged on an "esau" exaggeration))

I check again in about half an hour and I notice that one of the townhouses who has the booked 8 hours has there windows open now and when I emerge, the woman immediately gets up off the couch and begins to watch me through the blinds. When I go out again later to take out the garbage, she jumps up and leaves the townhouse to go guard the laundry room! I totally started giggling at the intensity and sleuth missions. I do believe they have succeeded in stopping our laundry mission. I actually feel like leaving my house and making a dash for it and seeing their reaction. Perhaps it could come down to a full fledge tackle to stop me from getting to the washing machines.

do it Amber!! Holy don't let those 8 hour laundriers get the best of you. Incredible really... that in a full work day you can actually do that much laundry.

that would be so funny...I think you should rig up a head-camera too, and film the event for our viewing pleasure. :) I love that there was a note about respecting laundry times, but nothing mentioning respecting others by making sure everyone gets time to do their laundry!

Hey Amber, Julie Greidanus here. Just wanted to let you know that you have a twin here in Edmonton enrolled in the Speech Pathology program. Yep, she's a newbie. When I went to welcome the first years I spotted her and asked if she was related to you, but apparently she's not. Her name is Barbara something-or-other and trust me you: she's the spitting image of you.
Anyhoo, it's fun reading up on your blog once in a while (however creepy that may be. I find the whole blogging world fascinating yet slightly creepy).
Talk to you later,
Julie

People are weird! Once there is something that seems in demand, no matter how silly it is, people get all protective, or even obsessed about it. Like for example the new Elmo doll. It is already flying off the shelves as it air on the news. Even I want one now.
