Celebrations are in high gear here. We got up at 5:45am and went through some stores for Black Friday ( very similar to Canada's Boxing Day). Target especially was crazy. You can tell people are doing a lot of their Christmas shopping today. This evening, was the official light up of downtown. We again bustled with the crowds and heard caroling, a brass band, and saw Santa. Below is the best picture that I can find on the web of the lights but I do not think it does justice to how pretty it is. Lights extend from the top of the courthouse which is in the center of a square to the bordering streets. Then the trees are all lit as well. It is quite magical.

Yesterday we made ourselves an American Thanksgiving feast. By following Rachel Ray recipes, we both would agree that this was our best turkey yet. I even enjoyed the mashed potatoes which is a stretch for me. At first we were not going to go turkey, but is the fun of shopping, everyone around us was getting a turkey and we just caught the spirit of it. It was a good choice.

Finally, a shot of the outside of our house taken just moments ago. We put up our snowflake lights and presto, the count down to Christmas is upon us.
