The Squirrels

I think I may have blogged about this in the past but with no camera, a repeat is in order.

Cold weather prompts us to put out birdseed and corn in the backyard. Very quickly, our little backyard becomes a lively neighborhood of birds, squirrels and chipmunks. Last year we had one squirrel, which we named Mackenzie, come a lot! He would easily finish off a corn cob in an afternoon if hungry. This year, we probably have three or four squirrels. Somehow this situation seems to work alongside the birds. The greatest part is there is a small squirrel who will come right up to our window and peer in. To say the least, this has delighted Sam. They will play for quite a few minutes until is bolts off, only to return later.

It is definitely starting to feel like Christmas here. Cold wind, brown grass and trees, and Christmas decorations up everywhere. We started discussing our shopping list yesterday and I was oh, so tempted to pop in the Sarah CD but I will resist until after Thanksgiving here.

Have a great day!

Your story about Sam and the squirrel is so funny...I can just picture it. :)

Allison and Angela are up this weekend to visit, and last night Alli popped in the Sarah CD...our first Christmas music of the year...I love that CD! I don't think you need to resist until Thanksgiving. Just do it now. :)
