My Parents Have Arrived!

We zoomed off after work on Friday to pick up my parents from Cincinnati. It was great to see them and I am excited for the week ahead with them. We spent the night there and took in their Natural History Museum, the Cincinnati History Museum, and two Omnimax presentations. They have really great interactive displays there including a full replica of the city in the 40's that includes movement, lights, changes in the time of day, and even a building on fire. They also have built a replica of a cave you can go in that bats would live in including waterfalls and all. They also have this nature trading post where kids can bring in anything they find in nature ( can't be alive) and they can tell the person as much as they know about it. They are awarded points for how much information they give and they can build points to earn something the post has. For example, 10,000 points gets you a dinosaur fossil or a turtle shell. 300 points gets you petrified wood. Very cool idea!

We then were off to a State park for hiking and birding. My Dad also really enjoys birding so Stephen is pumped. They are actually already gone this morning to scoop out more birds! Mom and I was opting for coffee and Target!

My parents have visited us for three Easters in a row. Both years in Vancouver and now which almost makes it a tradition now. It is funny how people add so much to our lives and my parents are no exception.
