So in between three tornado sirens going off tonight, we invited a friend over to make hamburgers and BBQ them up. We got a beautiful window between pea-sized hail and thunder storms to cook the patties up. Stephen and this guy both designed their hamburgers and we all decided to try the different recipes. Now, for those of you who know Stephen, he is a great cook and takes amazing pride in making his food look great. Hamburger patties is something that has been a growing in complexity through the marriage so that now a patty consists of onions, garlic, bread crumbs, oatmeal, sour cream, salt, pepper, an egg, bacon bits, and sometimes more. I like them at a lot and am in full support. Well, when our friend critiqued the burgers tonight, he stated that the burgers tasted a little "meatloaf-ish." I am giggling now because Stephen and I do not eat or know how to make meatloaf and have at times used in the meal as a joke. However, the criticism lent itself to this food item. Stephen responded politely and probably this will lead to a revolution in patty making but I am sure we will have a good laugh about it after. ( The friend is still here talking philosophy.)
In other news, my parents are coming in one week from today which is exciting. I look forward to their arrival and coffees and exploring. Stephen can't wait to take my Dad birding and we may check out surrounding cities that we haven't looked at yet. I get Thursday and Friday off of the week they are here which is great too.
Excited for the weekend despite a paper to write. In fact, I like writing that I have a paper to write because don't mind papers. Geeky but true. Yeah for the weekend!
