What's New.

The weekend is here and I now begin holidays for 2 weeks until school starts! I have just finished a 3 week teaching strech at my School's Summer Academy which was enjoyable but tiring. I taught a unit on the rainforest which was actually quite interesting and renewed some interest in me to continue and get better at living more "environmentally." So if you have any questions about rainforest layers, sloths, or poison dart frogs, ask now before I forget.

Darcen and Susan got home from Florida and are moving to Edmonton tomorrow. Susan has some cute pictures of their apartment on her blog. We are excited for yet another excuse to head to Edmonton and hit the wave pool.

And in other news, we have secured some Dixie Chick concert tickets. They are not playing at this time In Indianapolis due their to some people controversial comments but we will trek up to Chicago with Jenessa to see them. We have seen them once before in concert and loved it. The only thing missing will be Allison as she is a huge Dixie Chick fan and we went to the first one with her. A concert t-shirt will be in order for her.

I was able to register for my next class. This semester is will be on Families, Students, and Society. I am excited at what could be included in the course. I need to go pick up the test book and take a look as it could be very relevant to me.

And lastly, I have just finished reading this non fiction book. It is written by a woman who has a son that is dyslexic. It is a good overview of the learning difference in the diagnosis stage and early remediation. She is a doctor herself so the book includes research and different theories out there along with her personal experiences and her son's writing. So if you have any curiosity in dyslexia, give it a try.
