Yesterday After Work

Yesterday after work, Stephen came to pick me up. I am working some full days right now and I was hungry and tired. It is extremely hot right now with high humidity to boot. So high of humidity that when I leave an air conditioned area, my glasses will fog up!

Anyways, I immediately notice the Pizza Hut box on the floor of the car and my heart sinks. I am not a huge Pizza Hut fan. I inquire about it and Stephen says he has ordered a Meat Lovers for supper. I swallow some severe disappointment as not only do I not like Pizza Hut, but I am not a fan of the pizzas with amazing amounts of mea t. However, I decide to not vocalize thoughts and thank Stephen for getting supper.

He then starts to laugh and tells me to open the open the Pizza Hut box. I do and am delighted to find that Stephen has concealed not the gross pizza I thought in the box, but his homemade Tropical Chicken pizza ( a spin off of a Boston Pizza special!) This is my favorite pizza, better then eating out. It is on a thin crispy crust, no grease, wonderful mixes of cheeses, chicken, mushrooms, and alfredo sauce. A wonderful surprise that does not finish there...

Stephen then proceeds to produce some ice cold iced tea, kiwis ( another fav), and our swimming bag. We head off to Monroe Lake where we swim and frolic in the water. ( On a side note, it is so hot that the water in this enormous reservoir does resemble the temperature of a luke warm bath...however, still very refreshing!)

The evening continues with a rollerblade, ice cream, and continuing the saga of David Atinberg's (sp?) BBC documentary on Mammals. I was also able to finish a book I was reading entitled "Falling Leaves" which is a memoir of a woman who is about 60 -70 years old now who grew up in China. Very interesting indeed.

So, nights like this make work go faster. Other cool updates include the fact the Darcen and Susan return home after their honeymoon tonight so I am excited to hear how it went ( as in the events and sites they saw :), one more week until Jenessa comes to visit, and I got a black futon bought for my classroom's library area. Our camera cord will arrive with Jenessa and then I will post pictures of the make over my classroom is receiving.
